1. New and Improved

    posted on 03-12-09

Back to blogging on Neilaaron.com.  Thanks to my genius designer Douglass Graves, I can now update my site easily.  Which means I will actually do it (I hope).

So, there will actually be gigs that are coming up, more current updates to my blog, and new pics.  So watch out world!

The latest here is 2 things.  1, the MILK DVD came out Tuesday and I'm all over that sucker.  In the extra footage, the openning menu, remembering Harvey and of course the movie.  Yes, I know I have no speaking role, but I am so excited that I am in such a historical OSCAR winning movie filmed 10 minutes from my home in the heart of the Castro (and city hall).  Most of all, I am so truly inspired by Harvey Milk and his messages.  The song I wrote for him "HARVEY" is on my myspace page and will be on my next album www.myspace.com/neilaaronrocks.

    2. I am hard at work with Margrit on my kid's album.  We are feircely and fastly hammering it out because I caught a lucky break which requires us to crank.  Walt Szalva of Planet-3 productions has gratiously offered his talent and top of the line studio to help with this project.  He has engineered and recorded Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and MANY more greats.  How blessed am I?

So, I am working hard at music and life and trying to stay afloat in this difficult financial time.  And it ain't easy sister!

Well wishes and love to all my fans.  I literally could not do it without you.

  2. Love and lack there of

    Posted on 04.30.08

I met with Margrit today and we are still hard at work on my Harvey Milk song. A true labor of love.

So, I generally keep the blog to music career related stuff, but tonight I'm blogging about my love life or lack there of. So many times I am grateful for and satisfied with being single. But lately, not so much. It's been a LONG time since I've been on a date (one in 3 months) and I'm bored, tired, and frustrated with being single. I know all the basics like, "life isn't better with someone, just different", and "when you least expect it...". I'm probably the most open and available than ever, yet...

I know I'm not alone in this. I know "one day I'll meet someone". I know I'm not perfect, but also not broken. I know my misery is always inspiration for my music. I know there's a reason for everything and it's all for the best, and...well, all things I don't want to hear. I just want a magic wand and I want my way. NOW!!! So, If you know any eligible bachelors....send 'um my way!

  3. AI, etc.

    Posted on 04.24.08

A little AI chat and stuff like that. So, I think that the only note worthy singers on American Idol are David Cook and Carly (robbed tonight). The rest bore me, especially that chick that started her song over. I actually REALLY don't like her at all. And even my top two don't do much for me.

Now, Leona Lewis, that's another story. I love her. She is the real deal and will have a lifetime of music making ahead of her. She is in the class of Mariah, Whitney, Celine, Kelly C. Her album is pretty good, "Bleeding Love" being the best so far. The first time I heard all of them sing, I felt the same thing I feel for Leona. Long Live Leona.

I know they don't sing my style of music that I sing and write, but if there's one thing I know, it's singing. Singing and __________ (fill in the blank :)

  4. FAITH

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish a super special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my MOm Elaine Faith. Today she is.....oh yeah, I promised not to tell.

MOm, I would be nothing without you! Literally.

So, fans and friends rejoice. It's a Neil Aaron holiday. To celebrate, all CDs half price. Only 845 left! LOL

  5. Oops x2

    Posted on 04.11.08

I just keep erasing my blog entries. But not on purpose. I will get the hang of this, I swear!

So, before I get too attached to this blog and spill my heart out, only to erase it....I'm just gonna post and see what happens.

    So, place your bets!

  6. Oops

    Posted on 02.29.08

So, Sorry for the 20 day delay. But I've been a busy beaver. I went to Mexico, and I'm working on some more music, including a song inspired by and about Harvey Milk...which I will be continuing filming on Sunday :)!!

So, first Mexico! I went to a little town near Tulum , Mexico for a week with my BFF Clarissa and her family. We stayed in a grade A villa on the beach and had great people helping fulfill our every needs. Breakfast, cleaning, dinner, advice. Hugo is the bomb. He entertained all our needs (well, not ALL). I was there to work as nanny to Teebs and Deets, but was one of the family and had a great time. On my time off, I went snokelling with Austin in the Cenotes (ancient Mayan underground fresh water caves) and played for hours in the perfect carribean water getting nailed by the waves.

So, I'm back at work, back to music and back to filming. I am so incredibly excited about working on this picture. Not just cause it's a major hollywood film, not just cause it's major Hollywood actors, but because I am really passionate about Harvey Milk! I feel such a connection and am excited about writing a song for and about him. ok, til next time...which will be soon, I promise!

  7. Change of Plans

    Posted on 02.09.08

So, sadly, I have come to the conclusion that I can't blog about being on "Milk"and have decided to take down related posts.

Unfortunately, for one, I am NOT allowed to blog about it. We have been asked specifically not too. Now, you know I'm a rebel, but it makes sense and I really don't want to offend or piss anyone off. "They" are checking blogging related to filming, and I have directed people I have met on set to my site.

I will say this, I am DEFINITELY in the movie, it has been an awesome experience working on it, and I appreciate all the support from everyone so I can do this. I have been loving working on the film and working with the other "background artists", crew, and actors. Harvey Milk was such an incredibly important person for gay rights and I am honored to be part of telling his story.

  8. Woo-Hoo! It's launched!

    Posted on 1.31.08

Neilaaron.com is officially rockin. Thanks to the peeps who have been giving their (much appreciated) positive comments.

    So, here's the latest haps...
I just got done with meeting with someone who will be helping me take Neil Aaron enterprises to a whole new level. More shows, more distribution, more publicity, more exposure, the works. He is seasoned and connected and will be working closely with me and others on making me shine and become bigger. On the indie adult scene AND in the Kid music/books/etc scene. He's helping me with marketing and getting a team together to truly launch me.

Also, in the works is a super exciting opportunity that is HUGE on my radar, not necessarily music related, but "Neil Aaron" related. It is hush hush until it all unfolds, but it is fierce.

Ok, off to go to the studio with Margrit to make some noise. Stay tuned for for regular blog updates. I will be using this space for all related and non-related updates and earth shaking news.

    Love, me
    I love you!

    Posted on 12.19.07

Welcome. I am now officially blogging on my new site. Can you handle it? Blogging feels so good...ahh...but I always get myself into trouble. So, I may need some patience with what I can and can't write on here. I wanna be free, but I don't wanna do harm...to peeps I love. Such a hard balance.

So psyched to have some time off. 2 more working days! I am hoping to fill my time with movies, friends, sleep, and my favorite girl in the world Blu* Gean (my pooch).

I'm tired...and so is this paticular blog, but ya'll come back now ya hear?
